Well, I tend to be more of a hard-ass, I guess. I don’t like seeing grown women make stupid decisions and “follow their husbands instructions,” for pity’s sake, what was the feminist movement all about? The way that women get a break in the courts all the time is due to men’s infantilized view of us, I fear, as well as the fact that many women remain codependent twits and are in prison for refusing to snich on the worthless bum – how stupid!
If Jo Hovind had thrown her hubby to the wolves I would have given her probation. Is it controversial for me to suggest that if the law expected women to act as autonomously responsible for themselves as men do, women would cut out the act pretty quickly?
Men let us get away with stuff. The runaway bride on television clutching a teddy-bear, etc. This is actually a fairly recent, and Western, view of women, whereas in many cultures women are treated like pack mules and are not spared hardships. Obviously I don’t advocate that, but women’s frailty and impressional nature is utter bullshit! I’m just saying, I think Jo’s an adult; she knew what she was doing; it’s her choice to be a fundy and marry a fundy, and do the fundy dirty deeds. She should do the fundy dirty time.
Watch her go work on her husband’s appeals the moment she is free. Yeah, and he'll probably divorce her then for some youth thing who's been writing love letters to him in prison. Not a flattering view of women, but a true one.
