Arab Hobo suggested I start a thread so the Casey Luskin thread doesn't get derailed any further.

First off, how is the blog's new look?

The banner frees me up to add a motto. I was thinking of something along the lines of: "Chronicling the Never Ending Cycle of Woo". Perhaps someone can think of something better.

Also... if anyone thinks that there are any classic AtBC posts that ought to be archived at BPSDB.org it would be a cinch to import them to the site and post them under the original author's name.

I'll be consolidating all the requirements, links to BPSDB and BPS icons, etc. to one page later on today.

I like it - It looks clean, and I will try to get some time this week to play over there.  I'm just doing a drive-by today.

ps:  Thanks for doing all that extra work - you must be getting extra funding from Michael Dell to keep all the blogs going, and still find time to post here too.

It's the same theme to which Skepchick just moved.

I like it overall, but it needs just a little color to break it up.  You might consider adding the "Hi, I'm with the banned" and maybe the "Stop Sylvia Browne" badges (or other similar badges) in one sidebar to break it up a little.

Just a thought.

Good idea, Lou. I was going to add the obligatory link to After the Bar Closes, so I'll use an "I'm With The Banned" graphic for the link.

I added a Members Page that consolidates all the Contribution details, code for the images and other info.

Once I get all the kinks worked out, BPSDB.org should pretty much run itself - it will just be a matter of me clicking the "publish" button a few times a day. Which is good, because I've been neglecting CBEB's...

ETA: The one for the Tag that you told us to use.

Sorry about that. I've fixed the link.

So far BPSDB has been endorsed by two ScienceBloggers:
Green Gabbro and
Greg Laden.

ERV is on board, and our own Wesley Elsberry is down with the Lite™ version.

I think this is gonna work.

I'll be making a "Blogging on Pseudo-Historian Douche-Bags" graphic for those wanting to blog on Holocaust & Civil War revisionism.

Geez, every post about Larry Falafelman will be a two-fer.

Adding a Pseudo-Legal Douche-Bags icon would make it a hat-trick.

:D

What program are you using?

See if this link works. When I paste it in my browser, it works...

The one thing that's not showing up is Greg Laden's post. I don't know what's up with that.

Is there something else that should be showing up, but isn't?

Firefox, with the Sage RSS plug-in.  It worked fine yesterday.

That link gives me a timeout error when pasted into my URL bar.

His post showed up yesterday for me.

No, I'm just getting a timeout error when I try to read the feed.  I'm getting zilch.

ETA:  Actually, now I'm not even getting Technorati to load in my browser at all.  Perhaps it's a Technorati issue after all.

Sage is working fine for me.

Sort-of off topic, but I think Wes might be needing some moral support soon.

Awesome.

Indeed. Judging from the comments, it looks like we have our own Bob O'H to thank.

PZ's post has already resulted in a few new registrations. It will take a few hours for his post to show up in BPSDB's feed, but I'll keep an eye out for it.

I was a bit surprised that PZed wasn't in earlier, but perhaps he hadn't seen it.

I guess our next targets should be Orac and Ben Goldacre.  I emailed Ben a couple of weeks ago about it, and I've posted at the Bad Science forum, so if nothing happens soon I might have to up the pressure.  :-)

Thanks again for getting PZ on the bandwagon, Bob.

I need to hurry up and make a "Blogging on Pseudo-Historian DoucheBags" icon - Orac's stuff on Holocaust Denial screams out for one of those. Plus, his "Friday Dose of Woo" definitely qualifies for the BPSDB program.

A question for those of you who have had posts aggregated at the site: Have you noticed any increase in traffic? My "Advanced Creation Science, or simplistic propaganda?" post is getting a lot of hits today because of the huge amount of traffic coming in from Pharyngula.

Yep.  A modest increase in traffic thus far.

Enjoy the Pharyngula effect.  Biggest post I have to date got more than twice as many hits in one day than any other post has gotten all-time.

It happened early last month, when PZ linked to Salvador Cordova - Asshole of the Year.

A minute ago I happily saw PZ use the graphic

...and came over here to mention it but of course I'm way out of the loop these days.

I regret that I'm not able to keep up on everything around here like I usta.

It's been pretty fast and furious (and hilarious) around here, and I can't keep up either.

In keeping with the theme that's been going on the past few days, I'm pleased to announce the Bob O'Hara Award for Distinguished Service in Blogging on PseudoScience. Naturally, the first recipient is...

Bob O'Hara

Bob's got PZ Myers, Afarensis, and Quackometer on board at BPSDB. Although Orac is giving Pooflinger credit, I think Bob played a part in that, too.

Great work, Bob.

I want a recount. The voting was rigged, rigged I tell ya. There is no way Bob O'Hara could have won the Bob O'Hara award...for..., oh, um, hehe, never mind. ???
