I still can't help succumbing to JAD addiction, and have been posting at ISCID, much to his annoyance.

I noticed a few odd things:

1) I was able to re-register under a pseudonym despite having been banned

2) I could post without restraint

3) The option to start new threads was disabled for all posters (on an admittedly small sample size: JAD and Martin)

4) Loads of spam in the last place one could start new topics. (The whole section has now disappeared)

5) A post from JAD complaining that Martin could no longer post there

6) I can't post there, now.

7) "We are not accepting new registrations at this time."

8) Absolutely no meaningful contribution from any ID proponent for a considerable time.

I first heard of ID about two and a half years ago from a proponent in a forum unrelated to ID or evo, and predicted that ID would become history within 5 years. This apparent mothballing of ISCID seems consistent with the general downward slide into obscurity.

My posting rights have also been disabled.

I only went there to spell JAD's name wrong anyway, so no big deal, but it was the last gasp for "serious" ID crowd.

Where will they go to discuss matters of great import to ID now?

Why did not they think of hosting the Informatics Lab site there? It would have save a little hassle.

I wonder how FTK will find a way to blame "darwinists" for ISCID closing down their own forum?

The "Evolutionary Informatics Lab" appears to be Dembski's next ISCID: all big talk and vaporware.

So far, it is conforming to pattern.

- Created ex nihilo

- Location set so as to borrow undeserved prestige

- Pronouncements made extolling its significance

Of course, the EIL early on actually made a checkable claim, and promptly took down one out of three essays when the claim did not check out. This may bring home to Dembski and Co. that IDC "works" better when kept to uncheckable blather.

The ISCID was going to be an international organization for design scholars, with conferences, seminars, and a journal for ID papers.

It is now a wasteland. No conferences, seminars, or papers in the journal. Nothing left but a message board where an old nut named Davison babbles.

Why wouldn't you shut it down. It's a museum of failure.

How could we; the AE board used to get a lot of that.

Someone must have cleaned house, because a week ago there were  forums that were nothing but porn spam for the last two years.

(It's the equivalent of cobwebs, I guess.)

JAD obviously reads this forum as he's noticed that this thread exists.

He's gloating about the fact me and Alan have been "banned" and is now reduced to talking to himself about this thread!

I love that JAD's almost the sole inhabitant of ISCID's forums. What a complete, humiliating failure that organization is. Looking at PCID's webpage makes me laugh out loud.

Of course.  Look at it this way. There has been alot of commentary about Dembski only being in it for the money.  This would be a chance to test the hypothesis.

It's science!   :p

Ain't that the truth.  I remember Dembski's clowns chanting "Princeton" over and over.

I think that a Waco Barbeque joint is plenty authentic.  A Princeton PO Box is a sham.  His Baylor website was a sham even Baylor couldn't stomach.

I am unable to post at ISCID for several days.  Only John has access there. I don't know what's going on.
I only hope  John will be able to continue. His critic of neodarwinian fancies about natural selection is unique. I I have great pleasure in reading his posts.
