Because it's a nice back handed way to make nasty remarks about, and engage in socially engineering away, people who have either Teh Gay or Teh Promiscuity (both evil diseases created by Teh Satan).
Fundies are interested in a few narrow things but primarily they are obsessed with fucking. Not just their own fucking, but everyone else's fucking. It's not enough that they have decided they have to fuck one way, they must make everyone else fuck that way too. If you want to put your peepee in another man's poopoo then you will get Teh Aidz, not because of some virus, but beacuse of Gawdz Judgement Upon You.
Frankly Aids denial, like Holocaust denial, like Antievolution, like various forms of anti-Enlightenment and anti-reason attitudes are just nothing more and nothing less that the standard human tendancy to want the world to agree with one's views rather than temporing one's views to the world.
