A school board in Louisiana votes to ban creationism from its schools.
Plus two new polls on climate change, the recrudescence of a bill in
Texas that ostensibly would shield proponents of "intelligent design"
in higher education from persecution, and a reminder that spaces are
still available for NCSE's next excursion to the Grand Canyon.

A creationist legislator in Kentucky says that he won't push for
creationism there, there is a mixed result for climate change in
Nebraska's new state social studies standards, and newspapers in
Indiana denounce the antievolution bill expected in that state's
legislature. Plus a new issue of RNCSE is available on-line, and
NCSE's Minda Berbeco appears in California Classroom Science.

Louisiana a controversial voucher program was ruled to be
unconstitutional, while in Britain private religious schools receiving
government funding are being required to present evolution.

exciting news about the journal's future to boot. The issue of public
funding of private schools that teach creationism is in the news again
