I think we should do this as a regular feature -  I am not sure how it could be bumped for "Official" follow up, but
I will make a note in my Contact Manager now to bring up again for 2009.

To start off, my top 5 predictions:

1.  WAD will continue his Friday Meltdowns, and we will be "blessed" with an average of 1 Hilarious Hijink per month.

2.  Sometime this year, Dembski, or Other DI Odd-Fellow will speak at a university and we will discover another ERV that is smart, willing and able to PWN them, almost as good as the Original Erv™.

3. FTK will elope, not with Rich, although they will always be "just friends" but RB.

4.  Some FL school board will "Do A Dover" and be busted.  Hilarity will ensue.

5.  Denyse will not receive any Pulitzer nominations.

Dembski will continue to duck my bet. (Whoops, wrote "bed" at first. Whoopsie!;) :)

Intelligent design will continue on always geting ready to live as a "theory." [My apologies to the coiner of that ancient Chinese saying.]

Expelled will open, have a brief success among a limited audience, then live up to its name and fade from view, going quickly to DVD while inspiring dozens of grassroots film ripostes by independent filmmakers who don't think middle-aged men who wrote Nixon speeches and were third-tier performers as dullards in 1980s films are hip'n'cool challengers of teh man.

WAD will not repeat this prediction.

I think "Expelled" will get shockingly bad reviews, low distribution and terrible sales.

Rich - Excellent, Outstanding, and Graphalicious.   You have over-matched my pathetic level of detail, and I now add a 6th prediction that you will be nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.

Omigosh, my fountain of the deep just erupted. This is embarrassing.

Not with Sal?  We'll have to set him up with someone else.

ERV - fancy some cottage cheese?

You mean they'll try to paint their cliffs white?

I was going to object to that, until I realised the first letter wasn't a B.

Oh, I predict that Galapagos Finch will produce a funny photoshop story sometime in July.  That's funny strange, not funny ha-ha.

the morphodyke and WAD will continue to promote the idea that their books are proof evolution is a lie.  but you have to buy the books to prove it so.

and WADerloo is just around the corner!  a few more book sales and they'll win!

My prediction will be the production of two more books by DI fellows that be touted as causing  the death to darwinism.

Contrary to what is above I think that Expelled will be like Dover. 90% of the media and most people don't care about the ID debate although they will have their default positions. When Dover happened, the media picked it up and saw what scuttled out from under the rocks. The DI lost the PR war before the judgment was given. I think this will be the same. Expelled will be released to packed houses, all the creos will cheer but the media will get interested and start investigating and come out with counter documentaries.

The ID movement will then even lose more of the middle ground. I think the ID movement does well when it can stay vague and below the radar of the major media. When it sticks it's head up with verifiable facts and a major presence, they get their head kicked.

edit: A  number of school boards will be voted out after risk large legal settlements

How about this:  The USA will elect a Democratic president (I'm not even going to guess who, it's the Twilight Zone out there on the campaign trail) and the IDist/creationists will immediately retreat to blaming the liberal White House for keeping them from doing creationist science, acting of course as if they hadn't just had eight years of having a born again Christian in the White House funneling huge wads of cash into religious operations.  The past eight years will fall into the memory hole, and we'll once again be told how we need good Christian leadership.

I predict that Dembski will be caught in the Baylor cafeteria disguised as Denyse O'Leary.

I predict Luskin will undergo a sex change operation and move to remote Vermont where he'll use his eyebrows to predict the severity of upcoming winters.

I predict that Phillip Johnson will be found to have died in 2003, but be less moribund than the "theory" of ID.

I predict that the ID's Axe Lab will equal its record number of publications for 2007.

I'll make it simple.

The defunct ID journal will remain defunct.

Simultaneously, we will hear volumes about the suppression of DIssent by evil darwinist materialismus.
