really rather interesting"

This has to be the funniest headline I've seen at Space.com

(It's currently the second of the three revolving headlines on the home page)

Oh, and the link to the story itself is http://www.space.com/searchforlife/seti_uranus_061026.html

It's good to know that scientists and science reporters have a sense of humor.

I have a 12 year old son, so my potty humor is in its Renaissance.

Of course that sheds new light on this quote from the article...

Showalter of the SETI Institute also has been observing Uranus with Hubble

There is a reason for the recent spate of activity on Uranus.

Just so y'know.

Ok, I'm in tears, I have to go for a while and compose myself before family science night at the middle school...

This reminds me of the TV show "Alf" where Alf and somebody were arguing over how to pronounce "Uranus" - they disagreed about whether to accent the first syllable or the second. (Guess which position Alf favored. :) )

I'm with ALF, because quite simply, ALF rocks.

Other images taken a day later also show the dark spot near Uranus’ limb...

Limb?

"Uranis is tilted 98 degrees." Hey, just come out and say it! The "blandest planet in the outer Solar System" prefers the missionary plane of the ecliptic.

Sorry.
