Is this the end result of what AiG and other YEC organisations want our children to become:

http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=CGrvp-8oDok&feature=related

This guy is serious. The fact that he is so young and so well versed in creationist dogma is alarming. He appears to have been home-schooled in AiG/Carl Baugh material. If you can stomach it, there are 5 more, each lasting around 10 minutes.

There was a thread here discussing that little creep the middle of last year, tho I don't recall its name.

It's scary just to look at him. Twenty to one that kid goes nuts and takes out a bunch of strangers with a rifle sometime before his 25th birthday.

If there's already a thread for this, let's get a link up so I can close this thread and we can take it up over there. (Or vice-versa.)

Mine never even appeared. I invited him here to save us.

He just wants to make videos of himself talking to himself.

I've tried searching for the thread using his name Arden but can't find anything.

It's the first time I've come across him. The fact he's so young is scary. Surely this can't be how AiG and co. want our children to turn out ?

It's probably not how they want their kids to turn out, but that's what they're gonna get. Creationism - and by extension Intelligent Design - are science stoppers.

I read (over at Fundies Say The Darnedest Things, I believe) that his reason for not allowing critical comments is that he "can't tolerate lies".

I don't think it's the creationists' goal to create mindless zombies like this kid, but it's not like they're out to create a bunch of great thinkers, either.

They just want their kids to have their beliefs, that jesus rules and science drools.

I actually thing this is what the creationists want their kids to turn out as.

I have this suspicion, call it a conspiracy theory if you like, that the people at the top understand how important science is to our lives, but they also have latched on to the idea that if they can get the unwashed masses to reject it it makes them easier to manipulate with mythical psychobabble.  My suspicion is that if the theocrats were to get the whole country to themselves they'd still maintain a core of scientists at the upper levels to keep at least some scientific progress moving.

Admittedly the history of the Bush administration has made me doubt that idea, but.. I still think that at the upper levels the leaders have to know that they're lying and are counting on maintaining a group of people not brainwashed to that extent.

But for the peons like VenomFang, I think this is precisely what they want.  People with such badly mutilated rational processes that they can calmly explain that infinity is impossible, but eternity is perfectly acceptable because it happens OUTSIDE of the finite world.  Yes, that's a nugget of.. er.. something.. from the world of VFX.

People like this don't question their leaders.  You get them supporting you and it doesn't matter what you do, or how badly you screw anything up.  They're the ideal followers for incompetent, corrupt leaders.

It's like a clip I heard on the radio ages ago.  It was some NPR show, I think, and they were talking with little kids in a Jesus Camp type of place.  They asked a girl who had stated that she didn't think evolution was real what evidence she had for creationism.  Her answer was "the creator is in my heart".

Imagine what you could be allowed to do if your followers accepted THAT as evidence.  They won't let little things like CIA intelligence reports or trillion dollar debts or 100,000+ dead people effect their opinion of the performance of their leaders.

Here's a honey who commented today on my old post "Ken Ham's Museum Opens to Closed Minds."

Kristine, I am a Christian, you do not need to fear me. You are showing the most radical display of intolerance that I have ever seen. You talk about Christians like they are the worst thing on this planet. That proves that you know nothing of our lifestyles and convictions. I hope that you can know the peace that we enjoy. How you can call Mr. Ham and any of his associates closed minded is ridiculous. You and others [oh here it comes!] do not understand we were once like you, but our open-minded approach to a God who desires an intimate relationship with us, his creation. To reach a relationship with God is about as far from humans desires as one can get and it would take the most open mind imaginable. I have been a Christian for about twenty-six years and have attended many churches across this land and in Europe; I have never encountered a Christian with a hate and intolerance towards your beliefs as you have for ours. Yes, I admit there are those who go way too far that do and say things considered by more normal thinking individuals as very radical, hateful, fearful, judgmental, and just not wanting to understand anything except what they believe. Please understand that you are one of those people that are afraid, mean, confused. Yes you may have a joyful spirit when you are out having a good time with friends. I believe that that is not your real face. I have seen your real face and it is not nice. I do not know everything about you. I can only respond to the Kristine I have met in your words here. I only ask you to open your mind to God, he will open his heart to you. His heart is more comforting, tolerant, and loving than any you have ever encountered.

Emphasis mine.

So I provided a link to this kid's smug video. Also to a comment I made yesterday at Pharyngula, should Rene be open-minded enough to read it.

I'm dissing pseudoscience, not Christianity. Conflating the two is their mistake, not mine.

Rev. Barky quipped, "She's never encountered a Christian who talks like you in all the churches she's attended? Sha!" ;)

Speaking as a Christian as well Kristine, I also agree with you. VenomFangX makes it out as if in order to be a true "born again believer" one has to accept the crap put out in his videos. He appears to be blissfully unaware that many Christians have no conflict at all with science, accepting both evolution and an ancient age for the Earth/Universe

Apart from the Carl Baugh claims, all of what he has put out is merely recycled AiG material. Which is why I find the whole thing scary. AiG's aims and objectives may only come to fruition years from now. Is VenomFangX the first of many of these cretins ?

Some time ago I witnessed a session by Mike Riddle speaking to what appeared to be hundreds of 10-14 year old kids in a Christian school (I think it's somewhere near washington possibly) and much of what was preached is on VenomFangX's Youtube videos. Talk about brainwashing.

Still, we in NI are no better Kristine. We have our own VenomFangXs, and what's worse, they're actually in government running the place. Adding fuel to the fire, so to speak, Ham is returning for a 2 day seminar in May, obviously buoyed up by his last visit three years ago.

Don't despair, Peter - I used to, too.

Here - documentary on the Creation Museum. Most of it's infuriating, until you get to the Presbyterian priest who is also a biologist, who is so alarmed by creationism that he's teaching evolution in his Sunday school classes!

Oh, and here - VenomFang gets slapped down.

VenomFang: "The earth happens to be in a perfectly spherical orbit [!] around our star!" :O

VenomFang: "I get laughed at! The Grand Canyon could have formed in five minutes. When I say that, I get laughed at!" :)

He could have come here, but I guess he'd prefer to be laughed at.

Thanks for those Kristine.

Obviously he's never studied astronomy and knows nothing about Kepler's laws. With regard to water, he's obviosly never heard of Europa. Incredible stupididity.

Still, since he seems to have aquired his knowledge from AiG, and what I would call a delusional creationist (Ken Ham) it doesn't surprise me. I even watched Ham spouting the same nonsense about Mt. St Helens today on television i.e. "a lot of water and a little bit of time" etc.

It seems I've been wrong all along. He's a result of Hovind's brainwashing:
