TED

For those (few) of you unaware of the TED conferences and their excellent participants, there are a series of excellent videos in there to enjoy. I've watched a few of them and they are staggeringly good short presentations of ideas. From Dawkins and Dennett to Wilson and Watson, all worth a watch.

Enjoy, I know I did.

P.S. I would encourage our "science and reality challenged" contributors to watch them, you never know you might learn something.

P.P.S. Added in edit: If you can watch the speeches by Kurzweil and Rutan and Wilson and many others and be unmoved then there is no hope for you!

There is hours of stuff on there, it's not particularly in depth, but it's inspirational as hell.

Sadly this guy is not on the site but there's a chemist called Paul Wender from Stanford  who I've seen talk a few times and he is amazing. You leave the lecture theatre on a high, proud to be a chemist! His work is good, as good as many other's, but his presentations are awesome.

Sometimes a good presentation can really motivate people, and these TED things are definitely that sort of presentation.
