Quote (stevestory @ June 10 2006,17:59) | Accepting "microevolution", whether the creationists know it or not, is another retreat. Creationism can be viewed as a 140 year slow retreat. Original creationists said Darwin is wrong, nothing changes. At some point most of them retreated to Darwin was right in the small but wrong in the large. Lately, though, the evidence has become so overwhelming that the smarter ones, like Dembski and Behe, occasionally discuss the next retreat, possibly to something like Darwin was right, but abiogenesis isn't. |
But all the while, there will still be rank-and-file doofuses like Dave still saying all the old stuff, that no one's ever seen evolution happen, that there are no transitional fossils, the earth is only a few thousand years old, that the recency of writing proves a young earth, Darwin recanted on his deathbed, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Wherever Dembski and Behe retreat to, that dumbshit stuff won't ever go away.
