Here's a story from our newsbot that demonstrates that evolution is done, and no one has ever seen evolution happen in modern times:

IIRC, there was also a study of this type on leg-length and hopping speed of a species of frog in OZ, that seems to be increasing its distribution more rapidly as temperatures get warmer.

Do recall, tho, that the standard creobot response would be that this is "microevolution"....

It's still just a frog.

:p

Accepting "microevolution", whether the creationists know it or not, is another retreat. Creationism can be viewed as a 140 year slow retreat. Original creationists said Darwin is wrong, nothing changes. At some point most of them retreated to Darwin was right in the small but wrong in the large. Lately, though, the evidence has become so overwhelming that the smarter ones, like Dembski and Behe, occasionally discuss the next retreat, possibly to something like Darwin was right, but abiogenesis isn't.

Not exactly Steve, for what I undestand they're moving toward 'prescribed evolution' or 'Intelligent Evolution'. Man, this is the next big thing. Haven't you learned what Pr. emeritus Davison taught you? ;)
This sort of marco-evolution is not caused by random mutations and SN. It results from front loaded, 100% adaptive macro-mutations (sounds cool, hey?). Hence, Darwin was still wrong, except for micro-evo, but this doesn't matter: apes remain apes, unless the Great Designer transforms them instantaneously into humans.
Of course, nobody knows where the boundary between prescribed evolution and macro-evolution lies (Shi seemed confused on that point).

But all the while, there will still be rank-and-file doofuses like Dave still saying all the old stuff, that no one's ever seen evolution happen, that there are no transitional fossils, the earth is only a few thousand years old, that the recency of writing proves a young earth, Darwin recanted on his deathbed, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Wherever Dembski and Behe retreat to, that dumbshit stuff won't ever go away.

They're trying out different things. Sometimes you hear them talk about giving into speciation, common descent, etc. Behe suggested he could accept common descent and evolution all the way back to the first cell. Dembski said he could accept Theistic Evolution if he had to. They do this because, unlike Paul Nelson and AFDave, they don't want to look like complete chumps to their scientific acquaintances.

Oh, yeah, certainly. As long as there are complete retards, YEC will be with us.

Maybe in a few billion years, afer the Earth gets vaporised by our dying Sun, and after humanity colonises the galaxy and discovers other life forms, the last YEC will be dead.
Maybe...

naw, they would just use it as "proof" and say..

"we told you so..."

er, if they were hypothetically still in existence.

Maybe eventually they'll arrive at a position where their positions will be reduced to nothing except sociopolitical posturing. They'll say "Okay, we admit it, evolution and common descent are all completely true, the earth is billions of years old, and there's nothing to ID --- but Darwin was still a big doodyhead and you're still just a bunch of wicked athiests and we still don't want evolution taught in public schools. So there."

Oh, so you DO agree with abiogenesis, Dave?

Hey Daaaavvveeeyyy,

Why don't you tell us what you think of Dembski's plan to convert ID into IE?

let us know if you haven't a clue what I'm talking about.

Dave, I double-dog dare you to go ask Dembski if he thinks common descent happened.

There's a lot of room for freaks in your big tent!

well, technically, the fact that you don't have a clue is nothing new, and we tried to enlighten you for several weeks, and you weren't able to be enlightened.

You can't cure a man of willfull blindness with evidence.

I suppose another try couldn't hurt tho.  Here is Dembski's latest thoughts on the evolution of ID:

http://www.uncommondescent.com/index.php/archives/1199

How do you interpret it?

You should also post comments there and see how your homonym Dave(tard) Springer reacts to your evidence that the Earth is 6000 years old. It'll be interesting.

that's a great idea, Jean.

I'm sure the insightful mind of Dave Scot Springerbot will quickly be able to asses the value of AFD's conceptualizations...
