I don't know for sure. Maybe we don't. Before I post a new thread I like to look a few pages back to see if I'm duplicating threads, but it's not the end of the world if it's a duplicate.

Google and a 12-page check seem to think we're in the clear.

... just to make sure Google didn't have a problem with this site I entered "tard" as a test word and got 143 results, by the by. 143 pages on this site alone. I mean, God.

Oh, my goodness, I'm only 10 minutes in and my husband and I are kinda freaked....

The first gal talking to the kids makes the statement that their parents and other adults are sitting around getting fat....this gal weighs about 250.  Very strange thing for her to say.

Back to the movie...

Rant:

Some radio program announcer just said in a pissed off voice:

"Did you know that in Kansas they *have* to teach ID right alongside evolution?!!"

News flash to the masses.  Kansas has *never* taught ID next to evolution.  In 2005, the science standards the board approved did not even *recommend* teaching ID next to evolution.

This is classic....the nation had no clue what was happening here in KS due to what they were told by media sources fed by the NCSE/KCFS.

I'm not sure I'll make it through this movie without having a coronary.

One of the saddest parts of the film is around 36:15, where the blond-haired kid blames himself for not being able to swallow the dogma they're feeding him.

Rev. Barky and I watched that film - I just about had a stroke. He's very analytical, though - former Catholic. He told me, "These people haven't been successful in life talking to adults, so they turned to manipulating kids. It's Amway on Jesus." Sad.

On another note:

It's 2008 - WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FLIPPIN' RAPTURE, PEOPLE? :O

Okay, that wasn't in the film - but they were thinking it, weren't they?

Weren't 1/4 of all Americans expecting it or something? ;) Trick or treat!

Agreed.  For me, that kid was the one I felt for the most.  Paralleled my own confusions and unnecessary guilt when I first began to lose my faith at about that age.

Sometimes I'm angry at the pain I had gone through (although not as bad or pressured as this poor kid), but I'm overwhelmingly happy in the fact that I'm past it now and I no longer live a life in constant self-revulsion and fear.
