I seem to remember some real Archie "Christian" comics, in which one member of the gang mentions Jesus...

I don't remember Reggie being in it, though.

There's plenty of analysis which could be done (which I'm sure has been done, I'm just not aware of it) explaining how a pacifist's message can be warped into violence-mongering.

I used to own the Colson one (a smartass brother-in-law gave it to me as a 'gift'), and it's crap. I've never been able to track down the Johnny Cash one, tho it's supposed to be pretty 'good'.
