My comment had something to do with the timeline of Dembski’s deposition, and his expert witness report. It was a very minor mix-up on my part about the timeline but had the Dr. Dr. 3 times to infinity so hopping mad that he responded directly to my comment. A couple of years ago I posted a picture of a cute baby goose, and FtK grabbed the URL to use in the picture sidebar of her blog. This allowed me to hatch a devious plan, whereby I would replace that picture with another image that would then appear on her blog. After considering and rejecting several options, I planned to use a picture of Louis and myself and Prof. Steve Steve at Hutton's Unconformity in Scotland, since we were going to see the place and Louis et ux. planned to join us on that escapade. Sadly, Louis had to cancel (some business with the French), so that image was never obtained. I had to use this one instead, and it briefly appeared on her blog until she discovered the problem. If not, I'll send you both a bottle of scotch. Is there sort of a starting point? The linked post where the masquerade is revealed doesn't have a sort of "begin here" link. What is the other blog being mentioned, DAJ? Is that one of Davison's blog? I have a faculty meeting at noon, and it would be nice to have some entertaining reading to get me through it. Follow the posts as if you did not know this was set up by Lou. Several short posts are inconsequential and can be skipped, but they provided legitimacy to the grand charade. To get the full benefit requires some reading at UD and Davison's blog. Particular memories I recall were the Marines/Kate scare (complete with advice from the floating command center), the Big Green Marker treatment of Davison, WmAd's personal banning of Janiebelle, Springer's defense of the girls at both UD/JAD, the aforementioned Springer flounce-out-from-UD post... While many individual events are funny in and of themselves, the entirety of the comedy-drama and the people it pulled in is without compare. Back in the day, son, Davison's huge insult to people was to swap the first letter of that person's given and surnames. "Esley Welsberry", for instance, was one of his favs. It was natural to start poking him with his own stick when he inevitably went off the rails (which took all of about two comments, as I recall). So yeah, he came 'round giving the girls shit and Davey went over to one of his single-post blogs and added about a hundred comments just blasting him. When climate denialist Ian Plimer said the dog ate his purloined and photoshopped graph from the Great Global Warming Swindle and he got it out of a particular edition of a German-language journal called Klimafakten - he's a nutbar about editions; If you say he got something wrong in his Choose-Your-Own-Science book, he always says you have to say in what edition - said that when the book had been out a week - anyway, it was definitely not in any edition of Klimafakten. So I "defended" Plimer, saying I was perusing a Basque-language climate journal and noticed one article printed, surprisingly in the Tibetan language that contained the chart and the article backed up Plimer. I dunno how I could have been more Dan Brown / DaveScott. Maybe I should have started - I'd been called in by Interpol, when ... The long and short is, I was cited by quite a few blog commenters and a handful of bloggers.  And I amused myself greatly.

I started subbing - wearing a nice suit and a trilby as befits a ska guy - and one time it was for a good friend, so I came in an hour early the first day to discuss the week with her. The long and short of it was, word got around that "Ms. X has a Nazi boyfriend and he's a hard-ass who'll beat you up" (which is jr. high boys for you), and not only were they perfectly behaved for me the whole week, but when she got back they were much more respectful. I think you'll look very web-savvy.
